Drennan Series 7 13' Competition Float

£79.95
Drennan Series 7 13' Competition Float
Lightweight and very well balanced with a crisp fast action which gives excellent line and float control.
When playing biggerfish the action comes through more into the middle joint providing quite a powerfull progressive curve
and making the rod extremely versatile.
Ideal reel lines 2.5lb to 5lb suitable for everything from Roach and Chub through to Bream Tench and Carp.

  'TRADITION STILL LIVES ON'
Strengths: Light, responsive, beautifully made. A joy to own and use. Top class fixtures and fittings including a FULL cork handle.
Weaknesses: It's not a weakness, just an observation - this rod is NOT a baggin' tool (nor is it intended to be).
Overall: Remember the days when 'Match' rods equalled tools for catching roach, rudd, skimmers, dace, perch etc with 1.5lb or 2lb hooklengths but could cope with the occasional hefty tench or bream? Well, those days haven't gone. This rod is incredibly light and beautifully balanced if you hang a decent 2500 sized reel on it. This is a rod that someone floatfishing for silvers could certainly use if the fish moved out of pole range or you were trotting moving waters. Rated for 2-5lb mainline, using a 3lb mainline and 2lb bottom it has the finesse to cope with most encounters you might expect from estate lakes or even gravel pits. Fenland drains or canals would also certainly make this rod feel at home. In short, it is an absolutely cracking 'general' coarse fishing float rod with a reserve of power lower down should you need it. Please do not be tempted to take this rod out of it's bag and fish 6 or 7lb line with pellet or meat for big match carp - that's not what it was made for. Rig up fine gear and enjoy the sheer pleasure of using a finely balanced tool.
